Hi, Teddy

He with the most posts displays his tendency for lacking a wife, child, job and/or anything else (besides equations & essays) to fill said time.

He with the fewest posts displays his tendency for lacking willpower, discipline, desire and/or anything else (besides paying bills & trying to stay warm in an open-air, pre-historic house) to fill said time.

I'll be back.

Cars & Prayers

Today I offered a simple prayer of thanks for the protection of my sister, cousin and friend who were in a major vehicle accident late last night.  The Lord was gracious to protect them, and we choose "not to forget His benefits to us." He is wise who appreciates the frailty of this life and the goodness of a Father's heart found in prayer.

I'm reading That Incredible Christian - a great little book left long forgotten since my freshman year of college.  A.W. Tozer says, "...the wise of this world in their pride often miss the treasures which the simple-hearted find on their knees."

Today, I chose not to miss the treasure of a prayer of thankfulness.  Thank you Lord for preserving, if but for another day, the lives of those who mean so much to so many.

Man+Woman+Love=Baby

I'd like to be the first to congratulate Andy & Emily on the birth of their new child.  Horrace arrived at the lake during family vacation 2008 weighing in just shy of 15 pounds and 22 inches long.  Although sore, Emily  has recovered well from her C-section and, between feedings, gazes adoringly into the deep, black eyes of her new blessing from above.  The C-section was necessary due to Horrace's sharp, bony arm stubs and pointy backbone protrustions.  As a surprise to all,  Andy's first boy was much less hairy than expected with longer-than-normal whiskers.
Andy and Emily, may this be the first in a quiver full and/or stringer full of blessings.
Love, Jonathan

Arrival

Lizzie gave birth to Harper Madison on April 8, 2008.
I saw her first, held her first and bathed her first.
However, I did not feed her first which puts me in a strong
second for the Most Valuable Parent award.

Spousal Reproof

My little woman would politely request me to clarify she is not as mean and coldhearted as I've painted her in my preceding entries. She is a kind person and she doesn't cuss and isn't sarcastic and loves my all thumbs approach to handyman work and thinks I'm cute and likes me a lot.

She also told me to write that she most definitely didn't tell me what to write.
